BLURRING BOUNDARIES

Earlier there were two worlds the outside and the inside, The outside here refers to things beyond our homes-the schools, colleges, temples, markets and other public spaces. The lockdown forced us to rethink the idea of home where everything got assimilated inside the four borders of the house.

Also interesting to note is the people started claiming spaces where the windows were always coveted. Our entire world got confined to this one window or one corner. The change in the way conversations took place is also something to think about. Balconies, verandahs and terraces have become the new street and we have started conversing hermetically. This new way of inward living has also forced us to reflect on our lifestyles and have a closer look at what makes our homes. The pandemic has also brought in the idea of pause.
